Rainbows vs. Crocs

One of Rainbow's major competitors is Crocs.  Crocs is a footwear manufacturer that was founded by George Boedecker Jr.  Though they have recently skyrocketed into popularity, they were actually released initially in 2002, in batches of 200.  They were initially intended to be spa shoes.

Crocs seem to be all the rage in the past few years, but you can't deny the classic design of Rainbow flip flops.  I have to admit that I find Crocs comfortable.  My sister owns a pair and I wear them sometimes.  However, unlike Crocs, Rainbows are styled in a way that will stand the test of time.  The looks are obviously the major difference.  They are so simple and sleek that you can wear these with any outfit, even jeans, and still look great.  It's true that kids can look cute in anything, but adults look a little different when wearing Crocs.  =)

Crocs are made of foam, and they came under scrutiny in 2006 when some people suffered injuries.  The footwear got caught in escalator machinery because the shoe material was too soft.  Today, lots of hospital staff members wear Crocs in the workplace, but some hospitals are banning them because the potential to cause safety concerns.  Specifically, some feared the static electricity that might build up from the footwear rubbing on the floor.

Many people regard Crocs are very comfortable, but many others argue that they are not worth the comfort because they are far too ugly.  Regardless, they have gotten lots of attention due to the debate.  Crocs are for the most part manufactured in China, and are also made in Mexico, Italy, Brazil, Canada, Florida, and Bosnia.   Some styles are available in over 15 colors.

At the end of the day it's all a matter of preference, so go with your gut.  Whether it's Crocs or Rainbow flip flops, who cares what other people think, as long as you're happy.  Just be your best and forget the rest!
